With depths over 1600 feet, this Sierra glacial lake is renowned for crystal clear waters and stunning scenery. The lake is 12 miles wide and 22 miles in length and is rated the third deepest lake in North America. Tahoe offers boating, fishing, hiking, winter skiing and world class hotel/casinos. Music and cultural events are frequently offered. The United States Coast Guard maintains a year round active duty station and four local Auxiliary Flotillas, including Carson/Sparks, assist with boating education and Patrols.
